Measures of Success

MEASURE CHANGE, TRACK PROGRESS

If you can’t measure something, you can’t understand it, if you can’t understand it, you can’t control it, if you can’t control it, you can’t improve it.  This philosophy is one of the guiding philosophies of Training For Warriors – Fair Lawn. The measurement tools that we use to track improvement are the In Body Composition Analyzer and a series of 6 tests that measure speed, strength and endurance. These two assessments allow a person to evaluate athletic performance and aesthetic change.

IN BODY COMPOSITION ANALYZER

The In Body Composition Analyzer goes well beyond a scale and details:

  • Body Fat
  • Lean Muscle Mass
  • Segmental (Arms, Legs and Trunk) Analysis
  • Weight
  • Dry Lean Mass
  • Total Body Water

The system details these figures in a very user friendly one sheet report. The report contains a historical body composition chart so the person can monitor their results over time. We recommend using the system every 4-6 months to track changes.

The InBody 270 analyzes your body composition in less than 15 seconds.

SIX EVALUATIONS SYSTEM

The 6 evaluations for strength, speed and endurance are performed via one test per week. Conducted every Wednesday for six weeks, the tests include movements that are part of the current workout curriculum. The test follows this pattern:

  • 150 Meters (run)
  • Deadlift (max)
  • 100 Meters (sprint)
  • Row (erg 1 minute)
  • 40 Yard Dash
  • Chin-ups (max) or hold

Every 6 weeks the athlete receives an excel spreadsheet of their results. The top 5 men and women in each category are placed on the facilities leader boards. We have two separate leader boards one for Open (all age groups) participants and a Masters leader board for those over 45 years of age.
